About the team
At our headquarters in Hengelo, the System Engineering department is responsible for the entire development cycle of our radar products, services and solutions, consisting of concept definition, system design, system integration and validation.
Within the System Engineering department, the Mission Systems group performs all system engineering activities for the realisation of a mission system on board of naval ships. This includes all integration activities with various subsystems, such as sensors, effectors, communication and navigation systems.
The Mission Systems group consist of multiple teams in Hengelo and a team in Delft. To strengthen our System to Platform (S2P) team in Hengelo or Delft, we are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Integration Engineer.
About your future job
In your job as Integration Engineer, within the System to Platform team, you will be responsible for the programme level installation and information data and use your expertise to bring programmes to a success. The installation and information data contains all electrical, mechanical, cooling and hoisting data associated with a (sub-)system.
You will work as an integral part of a programme team which is responsible for the design, development and validation of a mission system for a specific customer. As part of the design phase, the System to Platform team is tasked to deliver the programme-level installation data to enable a shipyard to engineer and perform their design and install the Mission System onboard Naval ships. It is your responsibility to obtain data from within Thales and from our (sub-) suppliers, to verify their correctness and to integrate this into the overall ship’s installation data package for the customer. In addition, you will be responsible for the topside and below deck design in consultation with the customer and in close cooperation with the shipyard.
In your job you will interact with the Thales engineering team, representatives of the customer, suppliers of subsystems, the shipyard and other parties involved.
Your main tasks are to:
- Take ownership of project level installation data;
- Liaise with a shipyard concerning equipment placement and installation;
- Pro-actively engage with stakeholders within the project;
- Contribute to the overall project success.

You have:
- Bachelor’s degree (BSc) in Electrical Engineering, or similar;
- Proven engineering experience in electrical or mechanical engineering with respect to equipment integration;
- Affinity with installation data;
- Good communication skills towards internal and external stakeholders;
- High level of initiative, pragmatism, and precision;
- Good level in spoken and written English,preferably also Dutch,
- Flexibility with respect to business trips to stakeholders in The Netherlands and abroad.
